چکیده
Abstract Introduction Synchrony between mother and infant sleep-wake rhythms is positively associated with attachment maternal mental health. Chronotype a measure of one’s circadian rhythm which influences sleep timing other physiological processes. Whether synchrony mother-child chronotype similarly health into early childhood, when children’s behavior less dependent on the mother, unknown. Thus, we examined relation mother’s emotional Methods 106 healthy preschool-aged children (50.78±9.54 months) mothers (34±8.7 years) were included in this secondary analysis. Wrist-worn actigraphy (range 3-16 days) was used to assess duration midpoint. The Munich Questionnaire calculate midpoint overnight free days (MSFsc) corrected for debt workdays. Dyad calculated as phase angle (phase difference) mothers’ MSFsc MSFsc. Maternal measured Center Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CESD). Results Linear regression (adjusted child’s age, sex, Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test score, socioeconomic status, employment shiftwork) indicated no significant association dyad (p=0.33). However, median split scores (CESD) supports that later (i.e. chronotype) more depression symptoms (p<.01). Conclusion present results provide tentative support hypothesis earlier child better even childhood. Future research needs be done elucidate whether whose not aligned their primary bout may experience negative interactions leading worse Further analyses will consider additional measures incorporate than just alignment These findings point possible source poor can targeted future research. The relationship between mother\'s socioeconomic status and child health
Child health as one of the main indicators of economic development has been included directly in the millennium development goals. Due to the increased rate of mothers' employment and education along with children malnutrition, the effect of mothers’ socioeconomic status on children’s health was examined in this study. In case study, data on children at birth were gathered from heal...
متن کاملCircadian Rhythm Sleep Disorder: Irregular Sleep Wake Rhythm Type.
Irregular Sleep Wake Rhythm Disorder (ISWRD) is characterized by the relative absence of a circadian pattern in an individual's sleep-wake cycle. Significant changes in circadian regulation occur with aging and with neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease prevalent in older adults, which are likely to contribute to the prevalence of ISWRD seen in these populations, although ISWR...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Association Between Maternal Periodontal Health and Preeclampsia
Abstract Background and Aim: Preeclampsia is a considerable complication of pregnancy. Chronic inflammations such as periodontitis may lead to a transient low-grade bacteremia in the maternal-fetal circulation, inducing systemic immune responses, placental abnormalities, and other clinical manifestations of preeclampsia. There are inconsistent findings regarding the correlation between periodon...
متن کاملSleep-wake as a biological rhythm.
Evidence that the sleep-wake rhythm is generated endogenously has been provided by studies employing a variety of experimental paradigms such as sleep deprivation, sleep displacement, isolating subjects in environments free of time cues, or imposing on subjects sleep-wake schedules widely deviating from 24 hours. The initial observations obtained in isolated subjects revealed that the period of...
متن کاملEnhancing Maternal and Child Health using a Combined Mother & Child Health Booklet in Kenya.
Under Kenyan guidelines, HIV-exposed infants should be tested for HIV DNA at 6 weeks or at first clinical contact thereafter, as infants come for immunization. Following the introduction of early infant diagnoses programmes, however, many infants were not being tested and linked to care and treatment. We developed the Mother & Child Health Booklet to help relate mothers' obstetrical history to ...
